The end of Touch ID on iPhone and iPad? Apple is stopping production of chips for this technology

Say goodbye to Touch ID! Apple stops production of chips for this technology

Well-informed sources say that Apple will no longer use Touch ID in its smartphones. The latest model with this technology was the iPhone SE (2022).

According to industry insiders, the company has already shut down most of the equipment used to make the chips.

Based on this, we can conclude that the next iPhone SE model will receive a more advanced facial recognition system — Face ID.

In addition, insiders have denied rumors about the presence of under-screen fingerprint scanners in future iPhones. Instead, Apple will switch to under-screen Face ID. The first iPhone with the new technology will not be released until 2026.
